Delivering the Best Possible Care
I love helping people become comfortable at the dentist and learn more about their dental health, as well as discovering how important it is to their overall health. Every individual is unique and it is challenging and exciting to create a plan of care that best fits their needs. I think it is most important that patients understand what is going on in their mouth, and I enjoy answering questions and helping my patients take ownership of their oral health.
Education and Continuing Education
I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Jamestown in Jamestown, North Dakota, with a major in Biology and minor in Chemistry in 2011. While there, I had the opportunity to shadow and work in dental offices and enjoyed the fast-paced and challenging environment, as well as the ability to help people in a very specialized and unique way. I attended dental school at Creighton University School of Dentistry, where I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. I was recognized for the American Student Dental Association Award of Excellence during my final year there and graduated in May of 2016.
It is so important to keep up with the ever-changing profession of dentistry. There are always new techniques and equipment, and better ways to help our patients achieve the level of oral health they desire. I am excited to be participating in hands-on training through Spear Education. This will allow me to learn more techniques to help provide the best possible outcome for my patients, as well as give them all the options that are available in dentistry today.
Being involved in the community is another aspect of dentistry that I believe to be very important. In the past, I have been involved with volunteer dental clinics, such as Mission of Mercy, and education programs for teaching oral hygiene and cavity prevention for children. I also spent six weeks in the Dominican Republic serving underserved communities with their dental needs. I look forward to continuing my community involvement here in Fargo.
